About Me
DACVD, MOM, WIFE, DOT CONNECTOR
From being told I was bad at science at age 19, to becoming a DACVD at age 38, I have had quite the adventure. My husband always says “you can’t connect the dots looking forward – you can only connect them looking back”. This is one of the many things that he is right about.
Here are some of my dots!
Mission Statement
To provide veterinary professionals with current, curated, accurate, researched, accessible, and grounded information related to the treatment of allergic skin and ear disease in dogs.

My Why
My life really began when I started seventh grade at a new school called Noble and Greenough School. On my first day there, I wore this ridiculous sunflower jumper while everyone else rocked their khaki. Even then, I was not afraid to be a bright little light.
My light continued in college as I learned to pour my soul into writing and thinking. Philosophy was my space.
But, no matter where I was, or what I was doing, the threads that always held me together were my love for animals, my insatiable curiosity, and a soulful desire to be a part of something greater than myself.
Live, Learn, Vet brings this all together for me.
How I Do It
Life is busy when you work full-time, have a 5 year old, are married, have friendships, family, other hobbies, dishes to do, laundry to fold. But, I am in my element with it all (except maybe laundry; do not like). This is my spark that I get to share with others and a place where I can be myself. My creative, curious, quirky, brain and heart thanks you for being here with me.

HISTORY

1995
Started volunteering at the MSPCA’s animal shelter in Brockton, MA. I did over 1200 hours of community service there before graduating from high school. I basically lived there on the weekends.
2005
Applied to law school because #philosophymajor, but declined my offer to continue working with the MSPCA – eventually becoming the Director of the MSPCA’s Animal Care and Adoption Center in Boston.

2010
Started veterinary school at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Hit my stride, found my crew, loved my routines, worked my tail off, and became who I was always meant to be.
2018
Finished residency (June), moved from New England to California (also June), had a baby (August), passed boards (November), started a new job in San Francisco (also November), lost my mind (all months). 2018 = pretty big year.

2020
Moved back to Boston and into the home that my grandmother lived in for over 70 years. There is no place like it. I also started working as a dermatologist at Angell-West in Waltham, MA. Full circle, back with the MSPCA-Angell family and my family-family. Life is good.
2021
Launched The Allergic Dog, turned 40, adopted an allergic cat named Stella, inventoried what really matters in life, made a lot of baked goods, ran a lot of miles, and tried my hardest to keep boundaries during this insane time in veterinary medicine.
